This is a list of the web properties that we maintain and a brief description of the resources that they offer:
The Victory Seed Company – www.victoryseeds.com – This is our “bread and butter” site where we offer seed varieties to home gardeners. All of the seed that we offer are open-pollinated, non-hybrid, non-GMO, often rare and many are old family heirlooms that we are protecting. This site is were we generate the financial resources to do our seed variety preservation work, as well as to fund our other related historical horticultural work.
WebGrower.com is an informational resource of the Victory Seed Company. Although there is a lot of information on the main Victory Seed Company site, WebGrower.com allows us the space to spread out and expand on topics related to seeds and gardening.
The Victory Horticultural Library – www.saveseeds.org – is a project that is dear to my heart. The site is intended as a tool to foster the sharing of information pertaining to historical horticulture and to promote the preservation of historical horticultural documentation as well as significant commercially released and family heirloom plant cultivars. At present, the resources are not available to do all that I want to do here, but there is still a lot of information available.
The Seedsman Hall of Fame – www.seedsmen.org – As part of the Victory Horticultural Library, the Hall of Fame is my personal tribute to heroes of mine. These folks represent seed and horticultural pioneers. The list is not inclusive and grows as I have time to research and write. Also found here are the histories of the companies that many of them founded.
Dunton Family Farms is the name of our old business dating back to the early 1900s. My ancestors came from Maine, where they had lived since the early 1700s, and settled this community of Liberal, Oregon in the late 1800s. My Great-grandfather started our farm in the early 1900s.
